Terrific, Tremendous, Talented
Judith Ragsdale, DDS, MSD
I have been growing great smiles in The Woodlands since 1986. I completed my dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch at Houston in 1984 and received my certificate in pediatric dentistry from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1986 where I also received a Master of Science in Dentistry. During this two-year specialty training program, I learned all about the special dental needs of children. The curriculum included training in growth and development, child psychology, behavior management, dentistry for the special needs patient, sedation/general anesthesia and pediatric trauma. I’m an active member in good standing of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, The Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society.
I achieved Diplomate Status from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 1993. I actively participate in continuing education courses. The most recently completed was the annual session of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in Boston, Massachusetts where I concentrated my CE hours on course related to Pediatric Sedation.
My husband, Arlin Maddox and I live in The Woodlands. I participate in many church and volunteer activities. I love my home and enjoy entertaining my family and friends. I have a passion for the game of golf and love my time with my “golfing gals.” I enjoy working out, reading, Ladies Bible Study, my neighborhood Bunco group, needle work, arts and crafts, and spending time with my husband, family and friends and our two beloved kitties, BeBe and CoCo!
Jeflyn B. – Front Desk Manager
Jeflyn is approaching 40 years of experience working in dentistry, and she shows no signs of stopping. When asked what she loves most about being a part of the Growing Great Grins team, Jeflyn says “everything” but most of all she truly loves taking care of kids. When you come to the office, you’ll also find her greeting patients, fostering relationships, answering phones, setting up appointments, updating contact information in the computers, and handling recall cards. Jeflyn said she definitely found her calling working in pediatric dentistry and between her co-workers, the doctors, and our family of patients her life is like a Disney cruise every single day. Jeflyn stays active outside of the office spending time with her four children, four grandchildren, and great grandson. She regularly attends church at “The Ark, and lovingly takes care of her mother. She’s in her happy place with her bible, her family, a Starbucks, and a day at the beach.
Mona F. – Lead Dental Assistant
Monishae (Mona) says she loves her job because when she comes to the office, it doesn’t even feel like she’s going to work. With training and education from Remington College, Monishae has the experience to help our doctors provide the best pediatric dental care available today for every patient who comes to the office. She’s all about making dentistry fun, helping patients get comfortable with a movie and a blanket while they see the dentist. With over six years experience as part of our extraordinary team of dental health professionals, Monishae says she could never see herself working anywhere else. When she’s not treating teeth at the Growing Great Grins office, you’ll most likely find Monishae having fun with her two sweet daughters.
Anisha K. – Registered Dental Assistant
A graduate of Houston Dental School, Anisha is highly skilled in helping our doctors keep smiles healthy and happy. While working chairside, Anisha is responsible for caring for patients and making them feel comfortable, preparing for procedures, educating patients, applying preventive dental materials, and taking digital x-rays. Anisha loves our patients and takes great pride in watching them mature and grow to enjoy caring for their teeth. She says Growing Great Grins is unique because the office has the right mix of love and care for every single patient. One of the reasons Anisha loves our dental family is because family means so much to her. She loves spending time with her husband and their three busy kids. Together, they’re an active and amazing party of five.
Kim M. – Practice Coordinator
When Kim’s not soaking up the sun at her one of her favorite “happy places” aka the beach, you’ll find her hard at work at her other happy place – the office! Kim brings over two decades of dental expertise to the team with experience as both a chairside dental assistant and in her current administrative role. Kim will tell you that she loves working with her fellow team members to take great care of our patients and their parents. She goes out of her way to make sure the office is running smoothly and efficiently so that we can continue to provide the compassionate, caring dentistry that Growing Great Grins is known for. Outside of work, Kim loves to spend time with her husband who she’s been married to for over three decades. The couple has two children, and they enjoy sharing moments together as a family.
Lisa L. – Dental Assistant
Lisa is a proud graduate of the Houston Dental Assisting School where she fined tuned her oral health skills and expertise. At the office, Lisa is usually taking x-rays, assisting the doctors chairside, talking with patients, and making sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. What best about her job? The close relationships she develops with our patients and their parents. Lisa loves hearing kids explain their day, share stories, and watch them grow at every appointment. Lisa was born and raised in Colombia, is lovingly engaged, has three dogs, and loves being with her family. When the weather is nice, Lisa soaks up as much time outside as possible. She also loves music watching movies and relaxing when she gets the chance.
Jessica H. – Registered Dental Hygienist
Jessica received her registered dental hygienist training at Concorde College in Dallas and has been with the Growing Great Grins family long enough to form lasting relationships with her patients and their families while watching them grow up with a healthy smile. Jessica is thrilled to work in a fun pediatric office where every patient is treated with love and kindness. She’s also a fan of the fun we have in the office and the special activities we plan throughout the year. If you have questions about your little one’s smile, Jessica is an excellent resource with lots of knowledge and experience to help you get the answers you need. You’ll probably find Jessica spending time with her husband and two beautiful sons when she’s not cleaning teeth. The family enjoys taking in all things Texas country, playing with their dogs, going dancing, and just being around their group of family and friends.
Andrea S. – Clinic Coordinator
Andrea takes great pride in every aspect of her job, and it shows – that’s just one of the reasons we love having her on our team. One of the other reasons is she believes laughter should be a part of the daily routine and we couldn’t agree more. Andrea has been with our office for over ten years fine-tuning her role as clinic manager, balancing the accounts, checking patients in and out, and scheduling fun events. You can tell Andrea loves seeing the children and their parents when they come to the office for a visit. She enjoys watching our patients change and grow over the years as they mature and being a part of the loving family environment we strive so hard to maintain every day at Growing Great Grins. Andrea keeps busy when she’s not at the office with spending time with her husband and three children. You might also find her cooking, shopping, enjoying good music, decorating the house, or watching a Hallmark movie or two.
Kathie B. – Registered Dental Hygienist
Kathie has worked for various doctors within The Woodlands Dental Group for over 25 years, but has just recently started working with the Growing Great Grins team. She has experience both as a dental assistant and a dental hygienist through her education from Sam Houston State University and Wharton Junior College. This combination of roles makes her a dynamo in the exam rooms, prepared for any and all possible problems while gently educating our little patients and keeping them calm. She loves the people that she works with and all the precious children that she gets to see every day, but she especially loves the fact that something that she does on a daily basis makes a real impact in the lifetime of someone’s healthy smile. She also loves Dr. Blackburn, and says she’s “a combination of unicorns and rainbows!”
Outside of work, Kathie and her husband have two grown boys. She loves reading, hunting, fishing, archery, running, working out and cooking.
