When we call visits with us an experience, we mean it. And it’s a great one! As soon as you call us, we want you to know how important you are and we are ready and able to chat with you and answer any questions you might have before setting up an appointment.

Choosing the right dentist for your little one’s smile is a huge responsibility and we want you to feel completely comfortable with your choice. We really do think of taking care of young smiles as a sacred trust.

Of course, you can always make an appointment to check us out – if you don’t think we are the perfect place for your tyke, no problem! We are just happy we got to meet you. But, honestly, we think you – and your child will love not only your first visit with us but every visit until it is time to move to the adult dentist.

Just ask our patients; many of them came to see us as kids, were heartbroken to leave us as young adults, and now are bringing their own children to grow their grins!

First Visit Experience

We are committed to making your child’s first visit to our office as stress-free as possible. Our goal is to help your child establish a lifetime habit of regular dental visits and to build a relationship in such a way that he or she will look forward to visiting the dentist – regularly! (Parents: Don’t be surprised if your bambinos ask when they can come back to see us.)

To help us with this, we encourage you to use language that will reduce anxiety and establish trust. We will not mislead your child, but we will discuss dental care in a positive, affirming way. When we team up to keep the vibes positive, kids really do feel better!

Parents often ask us if they can accompany their kids for visits. If you really need to, yes. But after having tried both ways – always having parents accompany their children and very rarely having parents come along– we discovered that most children are less stressed and have a better experience when they proceed through their dental journey in the loving care of our wonderful staff, without their parents. Surprising but true.

Again, if you are uncomfortable with your child taking this journey without you, our doctors will be happy to have you accompany your child. Many parents find that after the first visit, they don’t need to accompany their child again and can make full use of the super-parent comforts available in our waiting lounge. We even have lap desks and lumbar supports so you can work while you sip your coffee and munch on some veggie chips.

Amenities / Comforts

MOVIES! When it comes to dentistry, a distracted child is a happy child. That’s why we have televisions mounted opposite our operatory chairs… and also on the ceilings! Kids love to lie back and watch their favorites (they can pick from our extensive library of kiddo movies). We also play movies continuously (a mix of current favorites and older classics) in the hygiene area.

COMFORT! We want your child’s experience to be as easy and comfortable as possible. We have blankets if they feel chilly. We have pillow rolls if they would feel more comfortable with a little neck support under our special pillow (headrest). For the little ones who don’t quite fit into our chairs yet, we have cushions specially designed to support our smallest patients and help them rest comfortably while we work.

NITROUS OXIDE. Laughing gas is a wonder for helping many children and adolescents deal with the minor to moderate anxiety they may feel when they get dental work. See the sedation tab for even more information.

PARENT COMFORTS: Think of these visits as an opportunity for you to rest and recharge a little. You deserve it! Enjoy the essential oil aromatherapy and a heated towel. Put your feet up on a footstool and let a heated lumbar pillow soothe your sore muscles. You can even use an aromatherapy eye pillow on, slip under a blanket, and take a nap! If you really need to stay connected or get some work done, borrow one of our iPads, use a lap desk, or battery up with a phone charger. And remember, whether you are working or resting, you can always choose a snack, beverage, or comfort item from our comfort menu.

Payment Options/Insurance

We feel strongly about treating each child and family as unique, and that means that we are committed to making treatment suggestions based on your best interests, not the best interest of the insurance company.

Here’s how it works:

When the services we recommend are completely covered by your insurance plan, we all do a happy-insurance-coverage dance. (Hurray!)
If services we recommend are partially covered by your insurance plan we will get an estimate from your insurance company so we can discuss all the financial options available.
If your child needs/would benefit from treatment which your insurance company chooses not to cover, we are happy to offer many options to help make treatment affordable for your family.

We want great dentistry to be available to any family in our community that needs it and we will go out of our way to optimize insurance benefits, help you understand your coverage, show you your payment options, and answer any questions you might have.
